Moving Words – 3 Evenings Composed by Mette Edvardsen – Fredag 3. Desember

Moving Words – 3 Evenings Composed by Mette Edvardsen – Friday 3. December

Workshop with Itziar Okariz @ 11.00 – 13.00

My practice as a performer artist is interwoven with the practice of yoga - both have taken shape through their mutual interference.

In the workshop I would like to explore together with the participants “Ujjayi,” also called “Ocean Breath”, a simple breathing technique that serve as the foundation of the performance with the same name that I created, as well as some movements, asanas.

The pranayama as well as the asanas, the forms and the transitions in between carry a complex choreography, gendered, aged, raced, shaped culturally…

I am very much interested in yoga as a system of movements produced in total presence, and in the awareness of the body as a sign.
